Tell us about a project that’s meant a lot to you.
I’m incredibly proud of a project I had the privilege to work on, which I believe is not only personally fulfilling but also had an impact on the world. In March 2020, the world was thrown into chaos and despair due to a highly contagious virus, forcing us into quarantine and keeping us locked down in our homes. In response to this challenging situation, I embarked on a creative journey that I affectionately call “The Quarantine Collection.”

The Quarantine Collection was an art-collaborative-photo initiative that emerged as a beacon of hope and a victory over the chaos, solitude, fear, and isolation that many faced during those trying times. Over the course of six weeks, starting on March 23rd, 2020, I managed to photograph over 160 people from all around the world, using only their phones and the internet as the medium to capture my photographs. I wanted to prove that art cannot be locked down and offer hope to creatives in a time of uncertainty.
My vision was to use somebody else’s camera to capture the images I had in mind, and through communication with the models and being present in the moment, I was able to create storytelling images on a global scale. I took the limitation imposed by the pandemic and used it to my advantage, channeling the power of creativity to start a revolution. I proved that art can’t be locked down.

As a regular film photographer, I welcomed the challenge of limitations, knowing it would make me smarter. The pandemic may have put a roadblock in my way, but I refused to let it stop me from creating and maintaining my mental health. It became clear that I could use someone else’s camera to capture the images I envisioned, no matter where I was or what camera I had access to. This realization led me to develop a new way of photography.
During this time, I also discovered that when artists face extreme situations, they are at their best and can showcase their unique style and vision. This has been an amazing time to create, and I felt privileged to bring hope and inspire the world with my work. I hosted virtual photo meets for over 400 photographers, directing models and capturing great moments. My mission was to give people the chance to disconnect from the world, create art, and feel happy about it.
In essence, The Quarantine Collection is not only a testament to the evolution of photography but also a reminder of the importance of using one’s skills and passion to assist others when they need it most. It’s a source of immense pride for me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have made a difference in the lives of many during a challenging time. This project embodies the very essence of human creativity, passion, and the ability to adapt, and I’m incredibly proud to have played a part in it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Puig, a professional photographer with a passion for capturing life through my lens. But I am more than just a photographer; I am a visionary American multidisciplinary artist who has embarked on a creative journey that transcends the boundaries of conventional expression. My journey in this industry has been a dynamic one, marked by creativity, effectiveness, and a dedication to making professional photography accessible to everyone.
My world of art merges the realms of photography and oil painting, and it serves as a powerful catalyst for transforming perceptions and ushering us into a realm of profound introspection.
I provide professional photography services both personally under www.PuigPhotography.com and through the visionary company I founded, www.ZeussPhoto.com. Zeuss was born out of the desire to simplify and democratize professional photography, making it easy and affordable for people from all walks of life to access high-quality imagery.

My approach to photography is centered around solving the daily photo needs of regular individuals and professionals alike. Whether it’s a special moment to cherish, a product to showcase, or a brand to promote, I strive to create images that not only work for their intended purpose but also exude creativity and effectiveness. I believe that a photograph should tell a story, evoke emotions, and make people feel great about themselves or their products.
Guided by an unquenchable curiosity, my art is a force for excellence and compassion. I’m not just crafting images; I’m using my talents to bring relief to those who suffer. Drawing inspiration from great classical artists and diving into the depths of the unknown, my work uncovers new ways of looking at the world. I see myself as a visionary, a thinker who believes in pushing boundaries and embracing authenticity, and I strive to reflect these principles in my art.
What sets me apart from others in the field is my unique blend of talent, multidisciplinary skills, and unwavering discipline. My experience in marketing within the entertainment industry has honed my ability to deliver solutions that truly resonate. I’m proud of my honesty and talent, which form the foundation of my work. I’m not in the business of fabricating illusions; I’m here to bring solutions and illuminate the beauty that already exists in everyday life.
In a world that often settles for less, I see myself as a modern-day crusader. I fight against the ordinary, striving for justice and brilliance in a society that has at times lost its way. My courage to challenge norms is inspired by my belief in the power of art to inspire and provoke change.
Through my lens, I have the remarkable ability to see people as beautiful as they truly are. My mission is to capture the essence of people, moments, the values of products, and brands in a way that leaves a lasting impression. I want potential clients and followers to know that I’m not just a photographer; I’m a storyteller, an artist, and a problem-solver who is committed to making the world a more peaceful place, one image at a time.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I have a unique approach to social media that diverges from the conventional pursuit of notoriety and a large following. I don’t believe in social media in the same way that you can’t pursue happiness directly; it’s not about chasing fame or numbers. In fact, I hold the belief that the more success one has on social media, the more average their product or content tends to be. While this might be acceptable for monetary purposes, it doesn’t align with my values.
I’ve observed that social media often lacks genuine interactions, with people seemingly desperate for attention and connection. Social media platforms are experts at fostering addiction, relentlessly pushing content until users reach a breaking point. This constant craving for validation can be detrimental to mental well-being.
My approach is to be authentic and not expect anything in return from social media. Instead of chasing a massive following, I focus on building a small but authentic community with shared interests. In a world where social media can feel like a cancer of authenticity, I believe in being true to oneself. By doing so, social media can cease to be a problem, and one might even realize that they don’t need it at all.
In essence, I encourage others to step away from the allure of the social media spotlight and find value in authenticity, genuine connections, and the pursuit of personal happiness rather than fleeting online fame.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, being an artist or creative isn’t just a profession; it’s an extraordinary privilege and a profound calling. It’s not solely about being inspired; it’s about the deep-seated desire to inspire others. To be an artist is to embrace a mission, a responsibility to assist others in navigating the complexities of life. For some of us, being an artist and creative isn’t merely a choice; it’s a profound duty that we carry with unwavering dedication.
The most rewarding aspect of my journey as an artist is when I witness the transformation that my creations bring to others. It’s that moment when I see my idea reflected back in someone’s eyes, when they look at my work and not only see what I saw in my imagination but also wholeheartedly believe that it can become a reality. It’s as if I’m crafting a curative piece of their reality, a piece that empowers them to dream bigger and reach higher.
This connection, this ability to ignite the spark of imagination and hope in others, is what fuels my creative spirit. It’s the knowledge that through my art, I have the power to touch lives, to inspire change, and to elevate the human experience. It’s a privilege and a responsibility that I hold dear, and it’s the driving force that propels me forward in my artistic journey.
So, as an artist, I embrace the duty to create not just for myself, but for the betterment of those who encounter my work. The most rewarding moments are when I witness the profound impact that art can have on someone’s life, and it reaffirms my belief that art is a transformative force that has the potential to make the world a more beautiful and inspired place.
